There's this moment in Rashomon where the husband looks like this Prohibition-era cad, and his wife kind of looks like a flapper, with her hair short in front like that, and he gives her this look, and it's like,

"Listen doll, we're finished."

and the scene changes to the court and she's like

"An' he ran out on me, the doity bum!"
