I consider them both damn fine albums- and they're also both evidence that putting out a greatest hits album doesn't necessarily mean it's all over, since they both came out after two greatest hits compilations (the two RCA changesonebowie and changestwobowie ones, and then the Rykodisc greatest hits one). According to the Bowie, he said if he didn't bother writing a new album on the road this last year, he'd be digging into the 1.Outside tapes (40 hours of him and Eno fucking around in the studio) like he'd always meant to and looking for the next album, which is supposed to be named 2.Contaminated if memory serves...
Re: It is a good thing- and evidence against the thesis.
Depends who it is, really. I bought our Mazza's one purely because I wanted all the videos in less-than-awful quality. But we'll see where he goes from here.
I said yeah, but then I did this while listening to the latest Prodigy album. Then, after a moment, I realised they never brought out a "greatest hits" and all was right with the world.
