My prediction is that Doom 3 will be Yet Another FPS which will not distinguish itself in any way other than a fetishistic striving for 'realism,' and while it'll sell respectably, it'll be forgotten within three months of its release.

You know, Bush can take the phrase 'activist judges' and cram it up his ass. The only reason corporations exist is because of court decisions; if he's going to use that as justification to forbid gay marriage, he can follow it up by abolishing corporations. Or, as I said, he can cram it up his quasi-presidential ass.

While we're at it, let me tell you exactly what the average American opinion of gay marriage is. It is "No, we don't support it... but we don't want to go so far as to ban it, either. Give us a little while to get used to the idea... maybe we'll change our minds. But let's not rush into anything either way." So then you've got one group of people who say we have to have it now, and another saying we have to stop it now and forever, and those are presented as the only options... because people have to get agitated about something which mostly doesn't matter. Not Iraq, not the budget or the economy or our foreign policy or anything like that. But 'should queers marry, yes or no?' What a perfect topic for a nation of fully self-absorbed people, pandering to our prejudices and desires. Dance for us!
