i must ruin everything

I just noticed that the picture on the back of the Alabama state quarter is of Helen Keller. Which is the first thing I think of when I think of Alabama. "Nooo... we're not racists! Rosa Parks? Church bombing? Birmingham? Selma? Tear gas and firehoses? Vicious dogs? Don't know what you're talking about... we're known for Helen Keller! *sob* We're not a redneck genetic dumping-ground... we invented Helen Keller!"

The Florida quarter's obverse reads 'Gateway to Discovery,' and has a Spanish galleon on it, indicating what was 'discovered' and who it used to belong to. It's also got a picture of the Space Shuttle, which is probably the least discovery-oriented space vehicle we've ever produced. It's like saying the Roto-Rooter van 'discovers' clogs.

I was going to write an entry about keeping a record of my transformation, but I realized I'm too lazy to even do that, never mind too lazy to keep a transformation log. And now, through no fault of my own, I'm up an hour later.
