Woke up at 8 pm with my tongue feeling like I'd engaged in two hours of intense cunnilingus followed by having it tugged out about eight inches from my head. Lacking menthol lozenges, and not wishing to gargle my medicated shampoo, I opted for drinking several glasses of Jagermeister. Old-time patent medicines had one thing right: booze makes everything better. This last is projected from my current activity, since I've only just started drinking. I also apparently look like Gary Numan, which is fine, since I also feel like Gary Numan.

Gives more of the Israeli reaction to this, if you can cut through Yossi Melman's obvious slant.
There's also the text of the offending work, and a photo of the piece.
So is portraying someone with sympathy the same as portraying them as a hero? Maybe I'm too distant from the Israeli-Palestinian situation to have a valid opinion, but I don't see what's so offensive about this. Maybe, too, I'm foolish in thinking that understanding one's enemies as human beings is the way to solve it. But, you know, I don't credit most human beings with the capacity for human sympathy. In fact, most of the people I see don't seem human at all.
