So. Upon hearing for more or less the first time that string theory originally had five variants, I wondered if perhaps they were all just different ways of looking at the same theory. That insight took me about ten seconds to come up with; apparently it took experts years to draw the same conclusion. Ashy = 1, physicists = 0. Yet I was totally oblivious to the fact that my next-door neighbors moved out-- I just went outside and all their stuff was gone --and my car's battery finally went flat because I never drive it. So what's going on? Am I turning into [livejournal.com profile] shaterri?

Dear Mom,

Have been asked by moderate Christians of America to become their new leader, for purposes of forming political action committee to dispel radical Christian stereotype. Not interested, although tempted. Too much turnover. Put in position of having to convince Jesus follower that all hope is not lost and that after ~2000 years of getting their message across, yes, Christians are in fact capable of taking their religion back from the fringe. The individual in question insists there is just no way and invites internecine holy war (my words) as alternative strategy, perhaps because of its relative ease.

I am somewhat flummoxed by the fact that 'back in the day,' rather than the use of PACs being prevalent, God Himself would show up in person to endorse His chosen people. Would be nice if He would do that now... this has to be the weirdest conversation I've had for months.
